3/4 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. butter, divided
1/3 c. maple flavored or pancake syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
2 12 oz cans refrigerated flaky buttermilk biscuits
1 8 oz. cream cheese cut into 20 cubes
Spray 12 c. fluted tube pan or 10 inch tube pan with cooking spray. Sprinkle pecans on bottom of pan. Melt 2 T. butter in small bowl, add syrup. Drizzle over pecans. Melt remaining 6 T butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon in shallow dish. Separate dough into 20 biscuits. Press each slightly to 1/4 inch thickness. Roll cream cheese cubes in cinnamon sugar mix. Place 1 cream cheese cube in center of biscuit circle and gather up sides to enclose filling, pressing edges together to seal and roll into a ball. Dip top of each ball into remaining butter then into cinnamon sugar. Arrange half of balls, sugar side up in pan. Repeat with remaining balls to form second layer. Drizzle with remaining butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake in 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cool one minute in pan and invert onto serving platter. Scrape any remaining pecans left in pan and spoon over buns.
