3 tbsp butter
4 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, halved, peeled and sliced
2 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp pepper, dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt, cayenne pepper and rosemary
Dash oregano
2 tsp sweet paprika
1 lb jumbo, peeled with tails left on and deveined
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup sauvignon blance wine or beer
2 tbsp lemon juice
Hot cooked rice
Heat butter and oil in a large pot. Combine spices; set aside. When butter has melted add onions and cook for 10 minutes over medium-low heat or until golden and softened; stir in garlic and continue to saute for 1 minute. Add spices and shrimp; cooking over medium heat. Stir often and after about 5 minutes, when the shrimp are almost cooked through, add the remaining ingredients. Cook another 1-2 minutes and serve over rice. Serves 4
