3 cups elbow macaroni, cooked al dente
1 cup chopped onion
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1/2 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste

Cheese sauce
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk

Preheat oven to 350. Brown beef, onion and garlic. Stir in tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling. Place half the macaroni in the bottom of a greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Pour meat sauce over macaroni; top with remaining macaroni and bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. While pasta is baking, make cheese sauce.

Cheese sauce: In a bowl, beat eggs and cheese until foamy. Set aside. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and add flour and salt until combined. Gradually stir in milk and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and smooth. Remove from heat. Into egg mixture, add a small amount of hot sauce mixture and then slowly pour back into sauce, stirring rapidly to prevent lumping. Pour over macaroni and bake for 10 minutes.
