1 lb pkg rotini, cooked al dente, drained
1 lb ground beef
1 small green pepper, chopped
1 (28 oz) can tomatoes, cut up
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 tsp salt
1 (4 oz) can sliced mushrooms
1/2 tsp oregano leaves and crushed red pepper
1 cup chopped onion
1 tsp basil leaves
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated

In a skillet, cook first 3 ingredients; drain. Add remaining ingredients, except pasta and cheese, and simmer on low for 20 minutes.

Combine pasta and sauce; layer half into a 3 quart baking dish. Top with 1/2 the cheese and layer again. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Serves 6-8
