  • 4 cans (15 ounce size) flat Italian green beans
  • 6 slices bacon, cut up
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • dried or fresh parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 3 cans (15 ounce size) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounce size) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 can water

Cut and fry onions.

Cut bacon with scissors into frying pan. Add hamburger meat, salt, pepper, fresh or dried parsley, red wine, smashed garlic cloves and olive oil. Cook until bacon, onions, hamburger and seasoning are brown.

Then drain and add the green Italian flat beans to mixture as well as the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Cover, but let steam from the lid escape (don't cover all the way).

Stir every so often on low to medium heat. Be careful not to burn. Check to see when beans are finished cooking. Put in a bowl, keep warm and serve.
