  • non-stick cooking spray
  • 4 medium tart apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 lemon, grated rind and juice only
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3/4 cup natural cereal with nuts and fruits

Lightly grease the inside of the crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.

Peel, core, and slice the apples. Place in the bottom of the crock pot.

In a bowl, stir together the sugar, lemon rind, lemon juice, cinnamon, melted butter, and cereal. Mix well then sprinkle over the apples.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 1 1/2 hours or until the apples are tender.

Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
