2 lbs fresh green beans, washed and stems removed
1 1/2 cups chicken broth or water
2 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, cut in half
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp dried rosemary and thyme, crushed
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp chopped parsley

Bring broth to a boil in a Dutch oven and add beans. Cover, reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain and plunge in cold water to stop cooking.

Heat olive oil in Dutch oven; add garlic and cook, stirring constantly, until lightly browned. Remove garlic; add beans and sugar; cook and stir until thoroughly heated. Add seasonings and continue to stir until beans are coated with herbs. Serves 10
