2 cups cheddar or Monterey jack cheese
1 (3 oz) pkg cream cheese, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup canned diced green chilies
1 tbsp hot sauce
1 clove garlic, finely minced
Tortilla chips

Place ingredients except chips in a small saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is melted. Do not allow to boil. Taste and adjust of spiciness. Transfer to chafing dish to keep warm. Serve with chips.
