Foolproof Rice

- 1 cup uncooked long grain white rice
- 1 cup very hot water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
Mix all the ingredients in the crock pot. Cover the crock pot and cook on high heat for 1-2 hours or until the rice is cooked and tender. You can cook this on low heat for 3-4 hours but the rice may come out mushy, depending on how hot your crock pot cooks (lower temps don't work as well for rice). If you use the low heat setting, add the water, salt, and butter to the crock pot for 30 minutes before adding the rice for best results. This will sort of pre-heat the crock pot which will help cook the rice better.
