1 package devil's food cake mix or chocolate fudge cake mix, plus ingredients according to package directions
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 large containers frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 jar hot fudge sauce

Prepare cake mix according to package directions and bake in a 13x9 inch baking pan. While cake is baking, mix together cream cheese and sugar until blended; fold in 1 container whipped topping.

When the cake has finished cooking and cooled completely, spread cream cheese mixture over cake and then pour pie filling over cream cheese mixture.

Fold hot fudge topping into remaining whipped cream and carefully spread over cherry mixture. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

NOTE: If it is to much chocolate, I have frosted it with plain whipped topping before.
