1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
6 oz white chocolate, cut into pieces
3 tbsp unsalted butter
2 eggs, room temperature
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup almonds, coarsely chopped
20 almond slices

In a double boiler, melt the first 3 ingredients until almost melted. Remove, cover, and stir ingredients, still over the heat, until completely melted and mixed. Let cool slightly.

Mix eggs until light in color. Add sugar and beat an additional 3 minutes. Beat in next 3 ingredients and slightly cooled chocolate. Stir in the flour and chopped nuts by hands until just moist. Pour into a lightly greased square pan and smoothed out.

Place 4 evenly spaced rows of 5 almond slices over the top of the batter to create 20 brownies each with almond slice in its center. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted 2 1/2 inch from the edge of the pan comes out barely moist. Cool in the pan on a rack 12 hours over overnight before cutting into brownies.
