1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, crushed
Dash pepper
1 tsp mild ground chili
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup Monterey jack cheese, shredded
1 (4 oz) can green chilies
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce
Onion and tomato slices
Salsa

Mix beef with next 4 ingredients. Shape into patties. Preheat grill or broiler and cook burgers to desired doneness.

Just before serving, sprinkle cheese on top of each bun. Toast the buns until they are lightly browned and the cheese is melted. Top each bun with a patty, green chilies and desired toppings. Serves 4
