PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

Bread Batter:
1 loaf Italian or French bread, cut in slices at an angle
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 fresh pineapple cut into chunks
1/2 cup raisins

Syrup:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup

Melt above ingredients together for syrup.

Grease 11 x 14-inch baking pan; pour syrup into bottom of pan and spread. Sprinkle pineapple and raisins evenly over bottom of pan. Prepare batter and soak bread in batter. Lay bread evenly on top of syrup and pineapple mixture. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
