2 (8 oz) pkg fresh mushrooms
2 tbsp butter
1 (.7 oz) pkg dry Italian-style salad dressing mix (I like the zesty Italian)
1/3 cup tarragon vinegar
2 tbsp water
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp white sugar
4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
6 drops hot pepper sauce
In a medium saucepan over low heat, cook and stir mushrooms in butter until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and place in a medium bowl.
In another medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients. Pour the mixture over the mushrooms. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 8 hours before serving.
