Crust
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup flour

Filling
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Topping
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
4 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup blanched and sliced almonds

Crust: Cream together first 3 ingredients. Blend in flour until thoroughly mixed and spread dough in bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.

Filling: Combine filling ingredients and mix until well blended. Pour over crust.

Topping: Combine sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Toss apple slices with sugar mixture until thoroughly coated. Spoon apples over cream cheese layer to completely cover. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 and continue to bake for 25 minutes. Cool thoroughly before removing sides of the pan.
