6 halibut steaks, thawed
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 small clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp butter and flour
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 (2 1/2 oz) jar mushrooms
1 tbsp dry sherry

Preheat broiler. Place fish in a single layer on a greased, unheated broiler pan. Brush with half of melted butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Broil fish 4 inch from heat 5-8 minutes; turn. Brush with remaining butter. Broil 5-8 minutes or until fish is flakey.

In a saucepan, cooked onion and garlic in 1 tbsp butter. Stir flour into sour cream mixture; stir in broth. Add to saucepan. Cook and stir until bubbly. Drain mushrooms and stir into sauce along with sherry. Heat through. Serve over fish. Serves 6.
