Easy Kick'n Turkey Sausage with Black beans and Rice
This is a simple recipe I threw together. It turned out really great and I will fix it again.
This recipe served a family of 4
Ingredients
1 medium onion chopped
1 Tlb spoon fresh garlic minced ( I used garlic already minced in a jar)
1 package Turkey sausage sliced such as Hillshire Farm
15 oz can of Black Beans drained
1 3/4 cups Chicken broth
2 tea spoon chilli powder
1 or 2 tea spoon cumin
2 tea spoon oregano
a dash or 2 of cayenne pepper
2 cups rice ( I used brown rice)
Note: Use Your favorite sausage such as Polish, smoked or beef sausage. I used all dried spices You can adjust spices to your taste as well Rice is your choice
Cooking Directions
In a large skillet place chopped onion , minced garlic and sliced sausage cook on medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Now add broth, black beans and spices until it comes to a simmer and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. then add rice and continue cooking covered until liquid is absord and rice is tender. You should have a little juice which is fine. Enjoy!
