- 1 pound ground chicken
- 3 cups sliced celery
- 1 can (16 ounce size) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (15.5 ounce size) Great Northern beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground chicken (add oil if not using non-stick) and cook, stirring constantly, until the chicken is cooked. Place the chicken in the crock pot. Add celery, tomatoes, beans, and onion. In a bowl, combine the broth, chili powder, garlic, cumin, allspice, cinnamon, and black pepper. Stir until the spices are well mixed into the broth. Pour the broth over the ingredients in the crock pot and stir to combine. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 5-6 hours or until the vegetables are tender. Serve hot.
