1 1/2 c. sour cream or 1 1/2 c. sweet cream and 1 1/2 Tbsp vinegar
4 Tbsp shortening
6 Tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 pkg yeast
1/2 c. water
6 c. flour
4 Tbsp soft butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

In large pan, bring the sour cream (or sweet cream/vinegar) to boiling. Stir in sugar, shortening, soda, and salt. Cool to lukewarm and add eggs. Dissovle yeast in 1/2 c. lukewarm water. Stir into sour cream mixture. Stir in 6 c. flour. Knead lightly on floured board a few minutes. Cover with damp cloth and let stand 5 minutes. Roll dough 1/4" thick in 2 rectangles 6x24. Spread with soft butter. Sprinkle half the dough with mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon. Fold dough over and make 3x24" rectangle. Cut into 1" strips and twist. Place on greased baking sheets about 2" apart. Press both ends to sheet. Cover with damp cloth. Let rise 1 hr 15 minutes. Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes. Spread top while warm with white icing.
