Serves/Makes: 8
Ready in: 30-60 minutes
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, lemon juice, and sugar to the skillet and mix well. Add the apples and stir them gently to coat them in the butter. Let the apples cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to make sure they don't burn. The apples are done when they are tender. Serve the fried apples warm. They can be served as a side dish, as a dessert with ice cream, or as a sweet topping.
