2 lbs ground beef
2 bell peppers, chopped
29 oz can tomato puree
29 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained
4 cups water
1 env. Lipton onion soup mix
1 tbs worcester sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 2/3 cup minute rice, white or brown.

Brown ground beef in a dutch oven or large pot over med-high heat. Drain excess fat. Add bell peppers and saute 3-5 minutes. Add tomato puree, diced tomatoes and liquid, water, onion soup mix and worcester; salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add rice. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally until rice is done (brown will take longer). Soup will be thick.
Serves 6-8, maybe more, with leftovers.
