Serves/Makes: 10
Ready in: < 30 minutes

  • 1 package (8 ounce size) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tub (8 ounce size) frozen whipped topping, thawed, plus more if desired
  • 1 angel food cake
  • 2 quarts fresh sliced strawberries, plus more if desired
  • 1 package (16 ounce size) strawberry glaze

Combine the cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy and the sugar is incorporated. Add the vanilla and mix for 1 minute.

Fold in the whipped topping, then set the mixture aside.

In another bowl, combine the strawberries and glaze. Mix gently so the strawberries are covered in the glaze.

Tear the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces. Place half of the cake pieces in a large, clear glass bowl. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cake pieces. Spread half of the strawberries over it.

Layer the remaining cake pieces over the cream cheese. Spread the remaining cream cheese over the cake layer and then top with the remaining strawberry mixture.

If desired, spread another layer of whipped topping or whipped cream over the top layer and garnish with fresh strawberries.

Keep the dessert refrigerated. For best texture, cover and chill the dessert for 2-3 hours before serving.
