  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 quart buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons melted margarine

Preheat a griddle or flat skillet to medium heat.

In a bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until uniform in color. While stirring, slowly stir the flour mixture into the eggs. Stir in the melted margarine.

Ladle the batter in 1/2 cup increments onto the heated griddle being careful not to crowd the pancakes. When bubbles appear, flip the pancakes over. Cook until golden brown on the bottom. Repeat with remaining batter.

Serve hot with desired toppings.
