Makes 6 servings.

1 pastry shell (9 inch), unbaked
3 c. fresh blackberries
2 c. fresh blueberries
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
dash grated nutmeg

Topping

1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. cold butter

Preheat oven to 375F.
In a large bowl, combine blackberries and blueberries.
Combine the sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg; sprinkle over berries and toss gently. Pour into crust.
In a small bowl, combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling.
Bake at 375F for 55 to 60 minutes, or until set - cover edges with foil during the last 15 minutes to prevent over-browning, if necessary. Cool on a wire rack.
