White Corn Tortillas
Corn Oil
Salt
Knife
Cutting Board
Tongs Skillet
First Step:
First remove the corn tortilla from their bad and then cut the stack of them into fourths.
Second Step:
Fill a skillet ¼ of an inch full of corn oil. Then place it on a medium high burner to heat up. Take a few of the tortilla pieces and carefully place them in the hot skillet and let them fry until golden brown on one side. Flip them over to cook on the other side, wait until they are golden brown on the other side then remove them from the skillet and plae them on top of two paper towels. (If you have never fried any thing before there are some safety rules to hot oil. One: Never leave it unattended. If you do, it could start your house on fire. Two: If you have children make sure it is out of their reach and the handle of the skillet is not hanging off the stove top where they can grab it. Three: Use the proper utensils to fry--this never includes your hands. I can tell you from experience hot oil hurts your fingers! And Number Four: Never put your paper towels or other flammable items too close to your stove burner. Also, Keep a sauce pan lid--that fits your frying pan--around any time you fry with hot oil; this way, if their is a fire, you can suffocate it out before it spreads beyond of the frying pan. I am not trying to scare you, just trying to make this an enjoyable experience. Don't worry, the probability of catching toast on fire is more likely than a corn tortilla chip)
Third Step:
On the paper towels imediately salt them before the oil drips off. This will make the salt stick.
