- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream sugar, butter and shortening. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add alternately with milk. Beat 12 minutes. Blend in vanilla. Grease 10\" tube pan. Place cake in oven. Set at 325 degrees F. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
