2 lb. ground turkey or beef
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 c. milk
1 beaten egg
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped almonds
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. water
1/2 tsp. pepper and garlic powder
1 tbsp. oil
Sauce
1 c. beef bouillon
1/2 c. wine vinegar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 medium onion, sliced
1 green pepper, cut into strips
1 stalk celery, sliced
13 oz. pineapple chunks or tidbits, undrained
3 tbsp. cornstarch blended with about 1/2 cup water
Cooked rice
Combine meat, bread crumbs, eggs, onion, almonds, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, water, garlic salt and pepper. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Brown slowly in hot oil; remove.
Saute onion and green pepper strips until tender crisp, remove from oil. Drain off fat. Drain juice from pineapple and add enough water to make 1 1/2 cups liquid. Heat liquid mixture with the first 4 ingredients. Add cornstarch mixture to the heated mixture in pan. Stir constantly until liquid is bubbly and thickened. Gently stir in pineapple chunks, sauteed vegetables and meatballs. Simmer about 15 minutes. Serve over hot cooked rice.
