1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1/2 cup coarse very dry bread crumbs
1/8 teaspoon paprika
12 oysters on the half-shell
Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

In medium skillet, melt butter. Add bread crumbs and paprika and cook until butter is absorbed and bread crumbs are slightly brown, about 5 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Spoon 2 to 3 teaspoons of bread crumb filling into each oyster shell. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Arrange filled oysters on a baking dish and bake in preheated oven for 5 minutes, until heated oysters are just cooked. Serve immediately. Serves 4 to 6
