2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup chopped onion and celery
Dash cayenne pepper, salt and pepper, or to taste
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 tart apple, chopped
1 pkg wild rice mix
1 (15 oz) can chicken broth

Cook rice according to package directions but use broth instead of water. Meanwhile, saute vegetables in butter for 5 minutes. Add apples and pecans. Saute for 5 more minutes. Add to cooked rice. Stir in cayenne and black pepper. Simmer for 5 more minutes. Let rest a few minutes before serving. Fluff with a fork. Serve with pork or chicken.
