1 (6 oz) pkg instant Spanish rice mix
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs beef cubed steaks, cut into 1/2 inch wide strips
2 tbsp oil
1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
1/4 cup hot-style ketchup
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp sugar and salt
1 cup cold water

Prepare rice mix according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a skillet, brown half the meat at a time in hot oil. Return all meat to pan. Add pepper.

Whisk together remaining ingredients. Add to skillet. Cook and stir until mixture bubbles. Cook and stir 1-2 minutes more. Stir in hot rice and simmer until warmed through. Serves 4
