Shrimp in Sake-Garlic Sauce

- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon minced shallots
- 8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup sake
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh parsley
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and shallots and cook, stirring frequently, until they start to turn golden brown, about 2 minutes. Add the shrimp and sake to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently, until the pink have turned pink and opaque, about 3 minutes. Add the butter, soy sauce, and parsley to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute, stirring to melt the butter and coat the shrimp in the sauce. Serve hot. Delicious over rice or pasta or as a topper to grilled steak or salmon.
