Serves/Makes: 6
Ready in: 2-5 hrs
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and pared
- flour
- salt and black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
Combine the hamburger and onion in skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until browned. Drain off any excess grease. Season the beef with salt and pepper as desired. Brint a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the potatoes and cook until soft, about 20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and mash with salt and butter. Combine the potatoes and beef mixture. Add flour as needed to make the mixture cohesive. Form the hamburger into patties and place on a plate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours before cooking. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the butter. When melted, add the hamburger patties and cook, turning as needed, until browned on both sides. Serve hot.
