Makes 2 dozen.

3 pears, peeled and cored
1 French baguette, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
1/2 c. melted butter
12 oz. crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
1 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350F.
Slice pears thinly; set aside.
Arrange baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet; brush tops with melted butter.
Place a slice of pear on each piece of bread, crumble some cheese over top and sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes, or until pears are browned and cheese has started to melt.
