Fluffy Instant Donuts

- 3 cups oil for frying (or as needed)
- 1 package (15-18 ounce size) cake mix, any flavor
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Heat the oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer to 375 degrees F. Combine the cake mix, flour, water, and eggs in a mixing bowl. Beat on low speed with an electric mixer for 5 minutes or until smooth. When the oil is hot, drop the donut batter, about 2 tablespoons at a time, into the hot oil. Do not crowd the donuts. Cook the donuts in the oil for 3-5 minutes or until golden. Turn the donuts as needed so they brown on all sides. Remove the donuts from the oil with a slotted spoon. Let drain on paper toweling. Repeat with the remaining donut batter. Dust the cake donuts with powdered sugar. Store the cooled donuts in an airtight container.
