1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup green candied cherries, quartered
1 cup red candied cherries, quartered
1 cup pecans, chopped
In a small bowl, mix butter until fluffy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour and mix in well. Stir in cherries and nuts.
Place in air tight container and chill for an hour. Divide dough into thirds on a lightly floured pastry cloth. With floured hands, shape into 12 inch rolls. Wrap each roll in aluminum foil and freeze at least 3 hours. Cut into 1/2 inch slices and place ungreased cookie sheet one inch apart and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
