  • 1 pound fresh okra washed and trimmed
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add okra and cook for 1 minute. Drain and pat dry. Whisk together milk and egg in a small bowl. Place bread crumbs in a shallow plate. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Dip okra into egg mixture then coat with bread crumbs. Place on a baking sheet. Gently brush okra with melted butter. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
