1 peck to 2 pecks herbs
2 quarts water, divided
8 ounces vodka
Whenever you pick your herbs, morning preferred, for the essential oils are strongest, choose the healthiest and best looking plants only. Don't use wilted, faded, r otherwise diseased leaves.
For every 1-2 pecks of fresh leaves use 1 quart of cold water. Put in a cold still over a low fire and distill slowly.
Distill a second time using the second quart of water.
Bottle and allow to stand loosely corked for 3 days.
Add vodka and cap tightly. Allow to age before using.
