12 oz ground turkey
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/8 tsp nutmeg and cumin
1 tsp chopped garlic
4 tsp chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
1 lbs sweet or hot Italian sausage, cut into bite size pieces
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup chopped onion
4 oz mushrooms sliced
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
1 tbsp chopped garlic
2 cups crushed canned tomatoes
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 tsp rosemary
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, broth, nutmeg, cumin, 1 tsp garlic, parsley, salt and pepper in bowl; mix well. Shape into balls. Cook turkey balls and sausage in oil in nonstick skillet for 10 minutes or until brown on all sides; drain.

Sprinkle onion, mushrooms, green pepper and 1 tbsp garlic around meatballs. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add tomatoes, white wine, rosemary, and bay leaf; mix well. Stir, scraping bottom of pan to loose browned particles. Cook, covered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaf; sprinkle with basil. Serve over hot cooked penne, ziti or rice. Serves 6
