1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg, separated yolk beaten and white, slightly beaten
1 tsp grated lemon peel
1 tbsp grated orange peel
1 tsp lemon juice
1 cup cake flour
1/2 cup finely diced hazelnuts
9 candied cherries

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolk, peels and lemon juice and beat until fluffy. Add flour and salt. Chill dough for approximately 1 hour. Preheat oven to 37 Form small balls with tsp Dip in egg white and roll in nuts. Press half candied cherry in each cookie. Bake for 10 minutes.
