6 cups shredded hash browns, thawed
1/2 cup each chopped onion and green or red bell pepper
2 cups sour cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper and garlic powder
1 lb smoked sausage
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350. Combine ingredients except sausage and cheese. Place in a 13x9 inch baking dish and arrange sausage on top of potato mixture. Cover; bake for 35 minutes or until bubbly. Sprinkle with cheese over top and bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes longer. Serves 6
