DUTCH LETTUCE

6 slices bacon, chopped
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tsp sugar
5-6 cups torn lettuce
3 small cooked potatoes, peeled and sliced
2 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and chopped
2 tsp chopped onion

In a skillet, cooked bacon until crisp. With a slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towels to drain; set aside. Reserve drippings. Stir vinegar and sugar in bacon drippings in skillet. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and keep warm.

In a salad bowl, gently mix together lettuce, potatoes, eggs and onions. Pour warm dressing over. Toss. Sprinkle with bacon; toss again.
