2 to 2 1/2 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
2 tbsp light or dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper and hot pepper sauce
8 sandwich or hamburger buns, split

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper over medium-high heat for 7 to 9 minutes; drain off the excess liquid. Add the remaining except the buns; mix well. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on the buns. Serves 6-8

I've tried many recipes, this is the best. I once 'dec-tupled' (10x) this recipe to sell sandwiches at a craft fair at my church. People were waiting in line to buy leftovers. Freezes well, goes up
