2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped onions, celery and green peppers
2 tbsp chopped parsley
2 clove garlic, minced
8 oz ground pork sausage and ground beef
1 (28 oz) can tomatoes, with juices and cut up
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp dried basil, salt and dried oregano
1/4 tsp paprika and crushed red pepper
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
1 bay leaf
12 oz spaghetti, cooked al dente
Parmesan cheese

Heat oil in a Dutch oven. Add the chopped vegetables, parsley and garlic. Cook and stir about 5 minutes over medium heat or until vegetables are tender. Add meat. Cook about 5 minutes or until no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Stir in tomatoes and next 9 ingredients. Bring to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and gently simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Before serving, remove bay leaf from meat mixture. Serve on top of spaghetti. Serves 6
