2 lb small scallops
2 lb fresh okra, sliced 1/4 inch
2 medium onions, chopped
2 medium bell pepper, chopped
1/2 chop chopped celery
4 tbsp oil
3 tbsp flour
3 medium tomatoes, cut up
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste

Make a rue in a Dutch oven with oil and flour. Cook until brown, stirring often. Add chopped vegetables. Slowly stir in 1 quart water. Add remaining ingredients, except scallops. Cover; cook about 30 minutes or until vegetables are done. Add scallops; simmer an additional 6 minutes.
