1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
2/3 cup shortening
1 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375. Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies. Combine first 4 ingredients and beat until well blended. Beat in eggs.
Combine dry ingredients and mix into creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by tbspfuls of dough 2 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes. Do not over bake. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet and remove to foil to cool completely.
