2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange liqueur
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 recipe cream puffs (recipe follows)
Garnish: powdered sugar

In a medium bowl, combine strawberries and sugar; chill 3 hours. In a medium sauté pan over medium heat, combine strawberries and orange liqueur; bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Syrup should begin to thicken. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a medium mixing bowl, beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form. In a separate mixing bowl, beat ice cream until creamy; fold into whipped cream. Freeze until firm, about 3 hours. Before serving, spoon ice cream mixture into cream puffs and top with strawberries. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Cream Puffs
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
1/8 tsp salt
2 large eggs

Preheat oven to 400. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper; set aside. In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to boil over medium heat. Add flour and salt, stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon, until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat; let cool for 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time; beat with a wooden spoon for 30 seconds after each addition, until smooth.

Spoon or pipe mixture into 6 equal mounds, 3 inch apart on prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden and puffy; cool on wire rack. Cut off top of each cream puff; pull out and discard soft dough inside, reserving top.
