3 cups water
1 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp instant minced garlic
3 cups instant potato flakes
1/4 cup sour cream
1 (2.8 oz) can French fried onions, crushed
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Lightly grease a shallow 1 1/2 quart casserole. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add milk, salt and garlic; stir. Add potato flakes and sour cream; mix well. Spoon potatoes into grease casserole. Sprinkle with onions and cheese. Broil 4-5 inch from heat for 30-60 seconds or until golden brown.
