SKIERS FRENCH TOAST

2 tbsp corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 loaf white bread, thickly sliced, crusts removed
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

In a saucepan, combine first 3 ingredients; simmer until syrupy. Pour this mixture into a 13x9 inch baking pan. Set aside. Place bread slices in the syrup. In a large bowl, beat remaining ingredients and pour bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350. Allow the casserole to get to room temperature and bake 45 minutes, uncovered. Cut into squares and serve immediately. Serve with butter and syrup. Serves 6-8
