4 beef T-bone steaks (1 inch thick)
2 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3/4 tsp flour
1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
3 tbsp water
Dash sugar
Sprinkle steaks on both sides with pepper and salt. Heat oil in large skillet over high heat until hot. Add steaks; cook 4 minutes, turning once. Reduce heat to medium-high; cook an additional 3 to 4 minutes for medium-rare or until of desired doneness, turning once.
Remove skillet from heat; place steaks on warm platter. Pour off all but 1 tbsp of the drippings. Stir in flour; cook over medium heat 30 to 60 seconds, stirring constantly. Whisk in whiskey, water and sugar. Bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from bottom of skillet. Spoon sauce over steaks. Serves 4
