16 wooden or metal skewers
1/4 cup firmly-packed brown sugar, sherry and soy sauce
2 tsp crushed garlic and sesame oil
1 lb sirloin steak, 1 inch thick, sliced into 1/4 inch thick slices
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15 to 20 minutes. Preheat the grill. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients except the steak (and the skewers); mix well. Add the steak, cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Thread the steak like a ribbon onto the skewers and grill or broil for 5 to 6 minutes, or until desired doneness.
NOTE: These are not the typical American type of kebabs because they have got only meat on them. So, I like to grill some colorful veggies alongside them.
